ŠKODA AUTO – The Obvious Choice for Technical Students
After they graduate, students of technical fields are often attracted to work at ŠKODA AUTO – a company that they regard as an ideal employer. This is the outcome of a survey carried out by Universum which included feedback from more than 10,000 students from 60 Czech universities. The car manufacturer is also popular among economics students, whose votes placed it in third place.
Most attractive employer for technical students
Such great results from this survey represent further proof of ŠKODA AUTO’s high attractiveness as an employer. “The attractiveness of the ŠKODA brand is on the rise, and not only among young talents. I’m very happy that we have been voted top in the Universum survey by the students of technical universities. ŠKODA AUTO offers graduates and other job applicants exciting career opportunities at a global company, which makes it really unique in our region. We appreciate the confidence the respondents place in us,” says Bohdan Wojnar, ŠKODA Board Member for HR Management.
The positive recognition from students and ŠKODA’s attractiveness have solid grounds. As a successful and international company, ŠKODA AUTO provides its employees with a stable professional and economic perspective, broad work and career opportunities both home and abroad, and the possibility of further training. In addition, employees receive an above-average pay package and a range of benefits prepared in cooperation with the KOVO MB trade union, such as pension contributions, holiday allowance, housing loans, spa stays, discounted calling rates and leasing new cars at a discount.
Ambitious student commitments
ŠKODA AUTO puts a great deal of effort into attracting talented graduates, particularly those with a technical background. Foreign language skills, willingness to receive further training and the mobility of the job applicants are also essential for the company. The car manufacturer actively participates in university fairs and cooperates with partner universities both at home and abroad, supports student organizations and holds lectures and seminars on selected topics.
The company currently employs approximately 25,000 people. The car manufacturer offers an elaborate system of cooperation to the students of technical and economic fields during their studies. Students may apply for an internship at the company or cooperate with experts to receive inspiring ideas or topics for their thesis. More than 1,000 Czech and foreign students took up this opportunity last year.
