Take a look at 3 of Ericsson’s early career programs

The multinational technology company Ericsson is currently recruiting students and graduates for their 2014 career programs. If you would like to continuously learn new skills and develop in a supportive and dynamic environment, then Ericsson might be just the right place to start. In this article we have gathered 3 of Ericsson’s early career programs. Take a look!

1. IT Early Career Program

The IT Early Career Program is a 24-month program designed to attract and develop future IT leaders with a strong technology and business focus who will be at the forefront of the company’s future achievements and technology and services leadership.

The program is based on the following four pillars:

Job rotations – an international assignment for 3 to 6 months

Mentoring – a senior leader who will guide you in the early stages of your career

Learning modules – Ericsson understanding, business acumen, managing change, delivered both face to face and virtually

Strategic team project assignments – cross functional teamwork sometimes in global virtual teams

During the program you will be introduced to the core elements of the company’s operations and will be supported to develop the skills and knowledge needed to grow into a globally oriented leader.

This is a new program aimed at attracting young IT professionals, fresh graduates with outstanding academic credentials and with up to two years of work experience. You benefit from being part of an inspiring global organization that is leading in the creation of a Networked Society.

2. R&D Global Graduate Program

Do you want to influence the future of mobile technology? By attending the Ericsson R&D Global Graduate Program you can become a leader in one of the most exciting parts of Ericsson’s business – the research and development (R&D) unit.

Together with future leaders from all over the world, you will go on an 18-month, action-packed journey. This will give you a solid foundation in R&D and take you to foreign countries.

First stop: Stockholm, Sweden – Starting in Stockholm for about a month, you will meet with key people within R&D and Ericsson’s top management team. You will also attend courses, giving you an overview of Ericsson’s mobile technology, their people and customers.

Second stop: your home unit – This is your opportunity to observe and take part in Ericsson’s day-to-day activities on a local level.

Third stop: Stockholm, Sweden – On your return to Sweden after spending 5 months learning about your home unit, you will be in Stockholm for 4 months. You will meet with other future leaders to work on exciting projects assigned by the R&D management team. At the same time, you will get training in professional communication, interaction and presentation.

Fourth stop: the world – At the end of the program, you will get the chance to complete a project assignment abroad during 6 months. Where you will be stationed and what you will be doing will be a joint decision by you, your line manager and the program management.

Ericsson’s hiring period for this program will take place between January and June 2014. The program’s kickoff will be in June 2014.

3. Excellerate Global Leadership Program

The Excellerate program is an 18-month-long development program for potential Ericsson leaders. It takes you through various dimensions of the company’s operations while developing the skills and academic knowledge you need to be a world-class manager. The program has been around since 1999.

The three main sections of the program are:

Job rotation – There are three six-month job rotations where you will gain practical experience of Ericsson’s business. One of these rotations should involve customer contact and be in a different country to the other two rotations.

Learning modules – Every three months during the program, participants in the program will get together to take part in learning modules that will last from 7-10 days. These modules will focus on the way the industry is changing, understanding Ericsson as a global business as well as business and communication skills, leadership, personal development and self-learning.

Mentoring – You will be assigned a mentor from management, and a „buddy“ from the Excellerate alumni.

The program provides challenging and rewarding opportunities and you will be enabled – and expected – to contribute in an innovative environment. You will get the chance to develop customer contacts and gain a global perspective of Ericsson as you live and work in different countries.
