It is with great sorrow that we would like to share with all of you the passing of one of our authors, Svein-Arne Jessen.

Our collaboration with Svein-Arne began in 2009, after which he published his eBook on project leadership in 2010. He has always been an important Bookboon ambassador, recommending and promoting us to further potential authors, students, his business network and journalists.

During our work with Svein-Arne, we were pleased to discover an enthusiastic and inspiring and hardworking personality. It was always a pleasure to work with him.

Thanks to his international background, Svein-Arne was also very popular among our readers from all over the world.

Important life milestones

  • Svein-Arne held PhDs from the Brunel University, Henley Management School (UK) and the University of Southern California (USA). He also received an MSc from the University of Oslo.
  • During his ambitious career he was active at universities such as the Fudan University (Shanghai, China), the associate faculty at Supaero Technical University, Toulouse, CERAM in Sophia Antipolis and HEC in Paris, France.
  • Stations in his life also include consulting activities for large Norwegian companies such as Statoil, Norsk Hydro and Statskraft, NKL.
  • He also worked, among others, in India (NORAD), Sri Lanka (NORAD), Malawi (AFDB), Jamaica (NORAD), Bhutan (World Bank), and in Czech Republic, China, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Ukraine and Vietnam.
  • The last main position he held was as Professor emeritus at the Norwegian School of Management in Oslo.
  • He also lectured as adjunct professor at the Norwegian Universities of Tromsø and Harstad and at the associate faculty at Henley School of Management (UK).

We present our sincere condolences to his family, friends and acquaintances. We will always remember him as an enthusiastic, kind and highly respected member of the Bookboon team.
