Lawrence Emeka Modeme obtained his LLB from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court. He engaged in private legal practice in Nigeria for many years before undertaking post-graduate legal studies. He obtained his LLM from Nottingham Trent University and PhD from the University of Manchester. Since 2003, Lawrence has taught law at the Universities of Manchester and Salford and is currently a senior lecturer in law at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Lawrence teaches International Law, International Criminal Law, Law of Torts and Business Law. His research interest is in International human and political rights.
