Description

Empathy can be emotions based (somatic) or thought (cognitive), meaning that some people feel what others feels; some understand and then feel. Our brain is wired for this through mirror neurons that help us identify what another is feeling and expressing so we can mirror their current state. This all starts with us knowing and understanding ourselves, so we have something to “mirror” off of. Empathy is further understood through questions, context and crating relationship or connection. Empathy is important information that helps us make sense of the world, have better communication, and behave in congruence.
