Moving abroad almost 20 years ago was one of the easiest and at the same time most challenging decisions I have ever made, but my experience, although personal, is not unique. This is how I and others have dealt with this same situation, facing the culture shock, adapting to a different work culture and many times finding ourselves having to overcome barriers.
