This book is a practitioner’s experience in using Lean Six Sigma with Agile product development teams. The author learned Lean Six Sigma in Manufacturing, at a time when the Computer Automation was the main approach in Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM). In mid 1990s some teams tried to use manufacturing processes for software development, like the introduction of specialized testing. They found that it challenging because software development was still a creative activity that couldn’t be formalized and standardized. In recent years Agile teams tart using practices and tools from Lean Six Sigma, most of the time unaware of their origins, and there is still a misconception that Lean Six Sigma can’t be use by Agile Teams.
