This eBbook is the first in a series. It consists of an introductory section that describes the whole series and two main sections.Section 1 discusses project management current reality and identifies the practice gaps in the current state of practice. Section 2 offers answers on filling the practice gaps.In general, the e-book is addressing the necessity for all types of organizations to establish an organizational project management system. It will also discuss the need for creating tailored, fit-for-purpose methods, and why it is vital for many organizations to elevate their respect for project management and build a sustainable organizational function, as important as the other organizational functions. To present our the case for change, we include research finding from leading university and benchmarking organizations and offer a challenge to executives to rethink their view of project management as a vital organizational function. 

About the author

Mr. Mounir A. Ajam is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, coach, advisor, consultant, volunteer leader, and project management thought leader.

He is the author of various e-books and books on project management; the latest is Project Management beyond Waterfall and Agile.

Mounir is a senior executive with more than three decades of outstanding global and practical experience in the capital project industry and the project management domain. He has worked on projects worth billions of United States dollars in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and West Asia. His experience includes working small and multiple projects and large and complex projects, including mega projects.

Mr. Ajam is a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of SUKAD Group, a leading project management provider and innovator. SUKAD Group is based in the USA but operates mostly in the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon since 2004.
