Description

Every moment we receive a gargantuan amount of information through our senses. We only pay attention to a minute percent of this. We first have an emotional or physical response to these stimuli before we consciously register our thoughts. Then through deletion, distortion and generalisation, we adapt the limited information to fit our beliefs, opinions and biases. Our emotional state influences memory recall. From these fragments we choose behaviour in the moment. We can challenge this by understanding our emotions, know our beliefs and self-regulate. It all starts with self-knowledge.
