“Addictions”, one more book of Prof. Piperopoulos and Dr. Piperopoulou that addresses a major problem of our society. It is a very useful book for all adults and even teenagers enlightening them about the dangers and traps of all types of addictions like alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and internet and it is being offered for free. Beautifully organized, comprehensive, easy to read and accessible to the layperson and professional alike. As an ex-smoker, I was particularly interested in the chapter dealing with tobacco addiction. I would recommend this book to anyone treating, struggling with, or trying to overcome or to understand an addiction.
I really enjoyed this book by Dr. Georgios Piperopoulos and Dr. Natasha Piperopoulou. This book is not only for parents and other adults, but also for younger people who need to be more aware of the many addiction traps out there and get smarter avoiding them. I highly recommend this book!
An amazing book on an extremely interesting and complex subject. A must read for experts, students and everyone with intellectual curiosity on addiction. The authors provide a historical perspective on each of the main addictions as a background to allow a detailed discussion of today’s frontier of knowledge. Everything is well supported and documented by scientific evidence and details for further resources. Konstantia Mamada, M.A.
As a University student majoring in Chemistry and as an athlete who does not smoke I found this book to be immensely informative on the addictions it deals with, rich in both statistical and qualitative data and academically well documented. I would humbly extend my sincere congratulations to both authors for contributing a very useful book and indeed free to download.
