Descripción

Being a salesperson means that you must play a bit of a role, or a character if you will. This is often times is a character that reflects our own self, but sometimes we get carried away and turn into something completely different. Some salespeople find themselves acting out in ways that make them come across as phony and suspicious. Customers have a very keen radar for this and are often repelled by salespeople who appear to be ‘playing the role’. It’s not always easy being yourself around customers because if it turns out that we aren’t the kind of person they like, we could lose the sale. Or, if we don’t become the kind of sales personality our manager expects us to be, we could be viewed as weak and ineffective. Trying to be someone else is exhausting and usually doesn’t last very long because customers can find us unrelatable, but what is the process of becoming more genuine to who we are while building relationships with customers? There are a lot of helpful processes and tips to help accomplish this.
