Description

Self-regulation is similar to climate control. We have a stable state that we want to maintain, and we either heat or cool to return to this preferred state. This skill is to manage ourselves in situations that could potentially get out of control. Self-regulation helps us be more aware of and stay in the present. With a self feeding loop of observation, we questions our intention of our behaviour. Notice what we are attending to and what are our distractions. Identifying our attitude towards outcomes, our beliefs gives us pause to further question our intentions and choose more appropriate behaviour.
