In Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, foundations are needed to be in place before we can work on self-development such as self-esteem. In cognition with neuro logical levels: our environment (where) needs to be stable before we can work on our behaviour (what we do and say). Building on this, we see our capability (how you do what you do) and our values and beliefs (what is important) Finally we have identity (who you are) and Purpose/calling. Understanding how these build on each other help us realise that before we can search for meaning, often we cannot until we take note of our foundations.
