Originally a concept by Chris Argyris, he postulated a ladder with 6 or 7 rungs (stages). These rungs present how mentally we select reality and process it to actions. Our beliefs affect what information we pay attention to, and we stay in a reflexive loop of assumptions and adding meaning, which changes the information, how we relate to it and the resultant behaviour. Being aware of how we process information helps us reassess our assumptions make behaviour change. Data-meaning-assumptions-actions.
