Comparing ourselves to others and to specific situations crates a break in our own self-worth and in what we really want. It can be a catalyst is spiralling, mistrusting our own emotions and thoughts as we glamorise people and situations that we don’t really have the full picture of. We compare ourselves to other people, the past and to ourselves, which can impact our emotional experience, how free we feel and how we present ourselves in the world. Unhealthy comparison can lead to creating a false self-representation that is dependent on others for validation.
