Astrid Günther hat über 30 Jahre im öffentlichen Dienst gearbeitet. In dieser Zeit hat sie nebenberuflich ihr Abitur nachgeholt und im Anschluss ein Studium mit dem Abschluss Master of Computer Science bei der Fernuni Hagen abgeschlossen.

Heute ist Astrid Günther als freiberufliche Entwicklerin und Autorin tätig. Nebenbei arbeitet sie aktiv an der Entwicklung des Content Management Systems Joomla! mit. Zunächst als Volunteer in der Joomla! Automated Testing Working Group und heute im Bug Squad Team.

Astrid Günther lebt mit ihrem Mann, ihrer Tochter und ihrem Hund in einem kleinen Dorf in der Eifel und wandert gerne.
