You know that feeling you get when making a purchase feels so good that you want to spend even more. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it is a great experience when it does happen, even if we went beyond our budget. How can we get our customers to do the same thing with us? On the one hand, we don’t want to take advantage of customers by getting them to spend money on things they don’t really need, but on the other hand, we don’t want them to miss opportunities to really enhance their purchase. Effectively cross-selling and upselling with customers is about understanding what motivates them to spend money and applying successful methods to connect with them in a meaningful way so they will spend more to increase their satisfaction. The best part is that this is not as hard as you think, and it does not have to be/ should not be deceptive when you have your customers’ best interests in mind.
