This talk is the first in the series, Living Longer. It explores the changes in society brought about by the fact that we are all more likely to live longer and have an expectation of a long retirement period. It discusses how life has changed over the years, from being the 3-stage life, that we have become accustomed to, and consisting of a relatively short period of education, then a long phase of work, followed by a comparative short period of retirement. These stages are being added to, making changes in todays’ society, that we will all need to adapt to, so we can meet the new and exciting challenges ahead provided by our longer lives and retirement.
