This talk covers how to successfully chair meetings with a particular focus on virtual meetings. Chairing meetings well is often a challenge, however, chairing virtual meetings can be an even bigger challenge. It covers what you need to consider when organising a meeting, in particular a virtual meeting, which needs more preparation than face-to-face meetings, including the preparation of detailed agendas and reports. It also explains the useful behaviors you need to develop and use to be a successful chairperson including summarising, testing understanding, asking questions, bringing in and shutting out. In addition, it explains the two extra things you can do to make a virtual meeting more successful.
